See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

Pickpocket gang leader turned unexpected freedom fighter.

Finally settled on a head and face for this one (because I have to play him this week). He’s somewhere between Aladdin and Gavroche (Les Miserables).

We’ve abandoned 5e DnD and are coming back to Pathfinder. I’m going to try playing a kineticist, so this may be awesome or awful. The setting is one we brewed up using a combination of Microscope and Dresden Files city creation.

Character backstory follows.

Background

Abandoned as a child, Weir was raised in the community of beggars and urchins that frequent the Lakefront, Churl district, and Bartertown. He stuck in with a gang of guttersnipes called the Dead Rabbits. They eked out a meager existence. Eventually, by attrition, Weir found himself leader of the group.

Killiam invaded and life got more complicated. Peacekeepers attempted to keep travel between districts limited and started cracking down on the social blight of the undesirables in the district. When Nod-Nod was captured by a troupe of Peacekeepers, Weir was forced into a confrontation with them to free one of his wards. Citizens of the district saw this as rebellion in the streets and joined the conflict to repel the invaders. Weir was catapulted to minor folk hero by his involvement.

The Peacekeepers responded by controlling supplies going into the area and the Churl district immediately descended into a warzone (much like occupied St Petersburg). Weir realized he would have to fight just to keep food accessible to his Dead Rabbits.

Days later he was shocked to have a conversation with an ethereal version of himself. The ghostly Weir identified himself as his future self. He went on to say that his involvement in the battle would free the city and set himself on the path freedom and self determination. He could make life on the streets better. He was visited multiple times by this version of himself, which he took to calling Weir(d), and discovered his own growing ability to move objects in the physical world. A power Weir(d) claimed he granted himself (it was very confusing).

Explanation: Weir(d) is a manifestation of Weir on the Ethereal plane. By tugging at strands of aether connecting the physical plane to the Ethereal plane, Weir can actually move objects and alter reality.

Newly empowered and full of self-assurance, Weir started pressing the battle against the Killiam Empire.

Party Connections

Ashe - Found Weir bleeding out in an alleyway during a Peacekeeper attack on the Churl District. While she nursed him back to health in her hidden lab, he told her all about the Killiam invasion.

Dante - As younger urchins, Weir found Dante lost in the Undercity. They made their way back to the surface only to be captured by a noble hunter from one of the high towers and taken back as trophies.

Alma - Helped Weir evacuate citizens in the Lakefront district during an aboleth incursion. The Lakefront is now infested with the aboleth’s minions.

Gray Thorn - The Gray Thorn rushed to deal with a Sapient Consensus raid on a White Conference safe house. Weir, assuming it was a Peacekeeper action, entered the fray. During the conflict, he noted something off about the Grey Thorn’s fighting techniques and questioned his motives for being there.

NPC Connections

Weir(d) - Weir from the future. Or something that claims to be that. In all likelihood, it is his mirror self from the Ethereal Plane which has somehow gained sapience and seeks to cross planes, become more powerful, or use Weir as a puppet for its own goals. It appears to him frequently with advice or quests.

Dead Rabbits - A pickpocket gang of street kids in the Churl district. They look after themselves. The group has constantly fluctuating membership, but many have remained from when Weir first joined. They are now Weir’s responsibility as the Churl district has become a warzone, barricaded in with limited supplies. Ages 5-14.

Garish - A dwarven Peacekeeper commandant first assigned to suppress the Churl district. His initial failings in the face of citizen guerrilla warfare lead to his reassignment elsewhere. But his resentment for Weir remains.

Dez Byron - Weir’s half-orc contact within the Delvers. Weir is something of a part-time member, using the conflict in the Churl district as an excuse to avoid meetings and dues. Dez probably has limited patience with Weir and has made numerous complaints to the higher ups.

Mart Blakeney - The son of a 2nd-Degree Brewer and Weir’s secret romantic interest. Obviously his father would not approve of their relationship because of his social standing so they must meet in secret.

Nod-Nod - A member of the Dead Rabbits when Weir first joined. He and several members went on to live in the Undercity. Weir sees him as a rival.
