Gyyyyy I wish you took commissions ;w; I would love to throw money at you~
*gets hit in the face with a penny*

“Shut up and draw, bitch!”

Last House on the Left (2009) based on Last House on the Left (1972) based on The Virgin Spring (1960) based on Töres döttrar i Wänge (1673).
I was tagged to do this by manifestnightmare. Shuffle on Spotify (here’s the link to the playlist I tossed-together), but I’m sure you can do this on any music platform… Keep reading
If you insist ;)
I’m a glutton for these things. My random song list has a strangely consistent theme and a long playtime. I can’t say my it is truly representative of me - there’s a lack of shoegazer, post-rock, synthwave, and nu-metal.
In artistic depictions of Saint Sebastian, the Catholic martyr is always shown as youthful, mostly nude, and either euphoric or disinterested in the fact he has been shot full of arrows. He was used as an excuse for artists (and lecherous Catholic patrons) to titillate.
St. Sebastian was some of the first kinky bondage art I saw as a kid. It was in a big book of Renaissance art of my dad’s. That image was by Guido Reni.
I’d never considered doing my own version of this until last week. I included the traditional iconography with the possible addition of Sebastian having a truly “transcendent” experience.
I colored up a statue version too because why not.
Agony and ecstasy of St. Sebastian, patron saint of gay bdsm ;)
Is he pretty enough?
I should do my own adaption of the martyrdom of St. Sebastian.
I remember as a kid seeing images of him, tied up and twinkish, in one of my dad’s art history books. I thought it was so hot. :p
Ignore the historical facts of him not being killed via arrows and also being of middle age. History ruins the art ;)
Where would fin de siècle artists be without Salomé? She only makes up 50% of all of the art produced during the age.
So sick of Salomé…
